Cross with pellet in 2nd and annulet in 3rd quarter / KAROLVS monogram. An unlisted variety in either MEC, Morrison and Grunthal, or Depeyrot with a pellet in the 2nd quarter and annulet in the 3rd quarter of the obverse cross, the initial cross on the obverse also appearing at bottom of monogram, suggesting a later striking under Charles the Simple.
